This one bedroom is one of our Club Atlantis apartments San Eugenio in Tenerife. It is situated on the 1st floor of the complex and enjoys a sea and a pool view. Infact the balcony gets the sun for most of the day, but the actual amount of time can vary depending on the month you holiday.

The lounge has 2 sofas, one of which is a sofa bed. There is also satellite TV which includes English channels.

The kitchen is well equipped and includes a full oven, microwave and of course a fridge.

There are two single beds in the bedroom so the apartment can sleep up to 4 people, but probably more suitable for a family of 2 adults and 2 children.

The minimum rental is 7 nights, but the owner prefers a 2 week booking over Xmas and New Year. For the most popular periods it is advisable to book around a year ahead, as the apartment is very much in demand.

South Beach Cocktail Bar is situated in the Puerto Colon area of Tenerife, and is therefore very close to the Club Atlantis complex. Apart from cocktails there is also food on offer, including seafood, pizza and pasta.

The prices are very reasonable and the views are fantastic. You can kick back, relax, sip your cocktail while watching the sun set.

The music is also great. The DJ is very good, playing all the up to date music. You can also watch all your favourite sports.

The cocktails include magharitas, mojitos and lumumba.

This two bedroom is one of our Parque Santiago IV self catering apartments in Playa de las Americas Tenerife. It is a south facing apartment with a large balcony which enjoys fantastic sea views. There are 4 sun loungers as well as some chairs to relax on and gaze across the ocean, perhaps while sipping a ice cold gin and tonic!

The apartment is on the 2nd floor with lift access. It has been recently refurbished and is all on one level, so would be suitable for guests with walking difficulties.

The lounge has a sofa with satellite TV (including English channels) and a DVD player. There is also a dining table and chairs.

The kitchen is well equipped and includes an oven, washing machine, fridge and microwave. There are two bedrooms, each with 2 single beds. There are ceiling fans in the master bedroom and lounge. There are 2 bathrooms both of which have walk-in showers.

Tribu is an Italian restaurant in Las Americas Tenerife, close to the Playa Azul apartments. It is a relatively new restaurant and is already rated no 7 out of 225 restaurants in the resort. Forty-three out of its forty-five reviews rate it as very good or excellent: not a bad start!

As well as the fantastic food, the staff are also friendly, especially the chef Marco, who does everything to please.

The starter menu includes langoustine with Greek pasta. Main courses include giant steak on a hot plate and black rice with prawns.

100 Pizze Social Club is an Italian restaurant in Los Cristanos. On TripAdvisor it is rated no 4 out of 300 Los Cristianos restaurant. It has 156 very good and excellent reviews out of 164.  Not bad!

As you would expect from the name the restaurant specialises in pizzas. The portions and the pizzas are very large, but guests are offered a package for takeaway if you have any leftover.

The restaurant is situated in the backstreets, parallel to the main street.  You can’t access it directly by car. It is only open in the evening and it is worth booking a table in advance as it can get very busy.  You will find the locals eat here, which is always a good sign of a good restaurant. As well as the pizzas the restaurant also offers pasta dishes and the specials menu has included grilled fillet steak with french fries or mixed salad, spaghetti pomodoro, roast beef all’inglese with salad and smoked salmon.

On Trip Advisor it is rated as no 2 out of 300 restaurants in Los Cristianos and has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in 2015. The latest review on TripAdvisor quotes “fabulous unique dining experience”. It also gets 125 out of 130 reviews which rate it as excellent or very good.

As the restaurant is so popular and relatively small, it is advisable to book in advance for evening dinner.

The special menu has featured: cod croquettes with salsa tartar with tomatoes and red onions; meat lasagne gratin with mozarella and parmesan cheese; crunchy chicken escalope with sauteed potatoes and vegetables and for dessert banana with ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate.

Pizza specials include tomatoe, mozarella, spicy chorizo, anchovies and spicy oil. Classic pizzas include tomatoe, mozarella, ham and fresh mushrooms. Main meat dishes include grilled beef tenderloin with salsa. Main fish dishes include grilled tuna in a mint and almond crust. The dessert menu includes tiramisu and panacotta with blueberry sauce.

This is one of our apartments to rent on Club Atlantis. It has two bedrooms, one with a king-size double bed and the other with two single beds. The apartment can sleep up to 6 people as there is also a double sofa bed in the lounge.

The apartment has all the modern amenities that you would expect from a good quality holiday apartment. There is air conditioning as well as a washing machine and a dishwasher. There is also satellite TV.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor and enjoys sea views and side pool views.

The villa faces south with a gated terrace which leads out to the promenade and beach. There is therefore a sea view from all levels of the property.

The villa is on the Azure block. The villa also has a washing machine.

This Spanish tapas and wine bar is situated in the centre of Playa de las Americas and has a balcony facing the ocean, so you can watch the sunset. On TripAdvisor the restaurant seems quite new. There are only 21 reviews, but they are all excellent.

The reviews mention the friendly atmosphere and staff as well as the excellent food. Infact it is a family run business. If you want to sample some real Spanish tapas, then this is the restaurant for you. Although the menu is limited, the food is amazing and most importantly it is very fresh. Everything is freshly made.

The music is also good as well as the drinks, particularly the mojitos and sangria. If you don’t like rum in your mojito, ask for it to be made with vodka instead.

The menu includes grilled octupus, tomatoes and goats cheese and spicy potatoes bravas.

The bar is open every day.  Most days the bar opens at noon and closes at 1 o’clock in the morning. The prices are very reasonable.

Showtime: The Sound of Musicals is a theatre dining experience consisting of transportation from your apartment, villa or hotel, red carpet treatment on arrival, dinner with background music consisting of Frank Sinatra and friends, followed by the show.

The show consists of various songs and dances from the West End shows including Grease, Hairspray, Moulin Rouge, Dirty Dancing, Joseph, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Chicago, with a mixture of comedy.

The dinner setting is atmospheric with starched table cloths and chandeliers.  You will be treated to a 2 course meal with all soft drinks, beer and wine included.

The show changes, so don’t be afraid to come and see it more than once!

Spotting Bottlenose Dolphins in Tenerife

One of the most common marine mammals to be spotted in Tenerife.

The bottlenose dolphin is a very common sight in Tenerife, mostly seen on the whale and dolphin watching excursions off the coastline.

They are a fascinating species often showing affection towards other mammals including humans.

It is interesting to note that whilst there are many species of dolphin, the bottlenose in particular is actually resident in Tenerife waters. This is the reason that they are the most seen species and why there is an 80% chance of sighting one on the whale and dolphin watching tours.
