We have stayed on several of the Parque Santiago complexes over the years. This time we were staying in Parque Santiago 2. It is in a good location within the Playa de las Americas resort. It is right on the sea front and there is  a promenade which stretches along in both directions. We love to stroll along this walkway in the evening on the way out for a meal. There are plenty of lovely restaurants and nice bars in the area. That’s why we always book a self catering apartment.  We booked the apartment this time through Karen Durant from Holidays 4U. We were met on arrival by a very nice lady. She made sure we had her number just in case we needed anything during our stay. This was just as well, as my daughter cut her foot on coming off the beach one afternoon. She was wearing flip flops as well, but a shard of glass went straight through. We called our local contact and she advised us where the nearest hospital was. It was very good service – thank you. After the drama, we settled down to enjoy the rest of our holiday. The apartment we booked had wifi internet and a washing machine, as well as satellite TV with plenty of English channels. It was also south facing so the balcony got a lot of sun and we also had sea and pool views.  We thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our holiday. Would definitely book with Karen again and if possible the same apartment.

We booked a two bedroom apartment on the El Paso complex through a lady called Karen from Holidays 4U. The criteria of what we asked her for was a two bedroom apartment for 5 people close to the Las Vistas beach. As there was nothing available on the usual complexes we use, Karen recommended El Paso. We had never heard of it before. Infact we couldn’t even find any reviews of it on the internet. But we were not at all disappointed.  The complex has a shared swimming pool. It is really a residential complex and you have to use a key to get in through the gate. It felt good from a security point of view, therefore. The location is excellent. Apart from being close to Las Vistas beach, it is also close to the Safari Centre with its lovely boutiques, restaurants and bars. We really were spoilt for choice in terms of eating out. The apartment enjoyed a sea view and even had air conditioning. When we arrived in Tenerife, we were met at the airport by the local representative, who was very nice. He drove us to the apartment and showed us around. We had to pay him the balance of the booking fee, a security deposit and a small amount for a final clean. The apartment also had wifi internet which was a real bonus as my husband runs his own business and needs to keep up with emails, even on holiday. The owner had left us  welcome pack which included a bottle of prosecco, which was a lovely touch. All in all we really enjoyed our well needed holiday.  Would definitely use Holidays 4U again and would also consider this apartment again if available next time.

Stayed on the Sol Sun Beach complex earlier this month.  The apartments are in a great location in Fanabe as they are right on the beach front. It is therefore also close to restaurants and bars and there is a lovely promenade stretching alongside the beach. We strolled along it many times during our stay, walking as far as Del Duque in one direction and towards Las Americas in the other. Our apartment had one bedroom and it had views over the beach and across the ocean. It was lovely to sit out and sip a drink or two in the evening, watching the sunset. We booked through Karen from Holidays 4U. She offers a personalised service, which was nice. The pool on the complex is very nice with plenty of sun beds and sun parasols. Please note you need to bring your own towels for the sun beds, but we were advised of that in advance, so no problem there. The apartment was very clean when we arrived with good quality sheets and towels. It was a nice touch that there is free wifi on the complex, but it was a bit on the slow side. We ended up using our smart phones as wifi hot spots. We only paid Vodafone £3 per day maximum to use the data within our contract package, so felt it was very good value and a lot faster than the wifi available locally. As it is also a hotel which you can book on a bed and breakfast or board basis, there is also a restaurant, but we didn’t try it as we preferred to walk out and sample the many different restaurants in the local area.

We booked a two bedroom apartment on Las Plataneras in Los Cristianos Tenerife through Karen from Holidays4u.org. She was very helpful throughout the booking process and even during the holiday. Rather embarrassingly, we called her gone 11pm one night as we thought we were locked out of the apartment. Unfortunately the voucher with the local contact number was stupidly also inside the apartment. Karen kindly gave us the number and said she would phone on our behalf to get someone to come out to us. In the end it was a false alarm. It turned out to be a sticky key. We managed to get back into the apartment without having to call out the local management, after another call to Karen to let her know it was a false alarm. The apartment was clean and well equipped (obviously used by the owners a fair amount). The complex was all well maintained and the pools were nice. It is also a hotel, so there is a restaurant and bar on site. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was very good.  But we prefer to book on a self catering basis anyway as there are a lot of nice restaurants in resort which are worth exploring. It is nice to stroll out in the evening for a drink and meal.  Infact the apartment was well equipped for cooking in with plenty of pots and pans and cooking utensils, but we didn’t really take advantage of that as we like to eat out on holiday. It’s nice to take a break from the normal routine one has at home of cooking and doing dishes etc.

We have just returned from a holiday on the Yucca Park complex in Tenerife. This is our favourite complex. We booked a one bedroom apartment this time through Karen from Holidays4u.org. It was very well furnished and had a sunny balcony. The checking in process was very efficient. We were met at the airport and taken directly to the apartment. On arrival we were shown the apartment and handed the key. At this point we paid the rest of our booking fee as well as a quite large security bond. I don’t blame the owner for charging this though. The apartment was beautifully decorated with a lot of special touches. If I was the owner I would charge a bond as well.  There was a double bed in the bedroom which was very comfortable. The owner had also kitted the apartment with air conditioning, in the lounge and bedroom. The complex is in a brilliant area, just across the road from Fanabe beach and therefore very close to lots of nice restaurants and bars as well as a bowling alley, which we tried once. There was also a taxi rank nearby and a supermarket. You can also walk along the beach front promenade in either direction leading to the Del Duque beach in one direction or Torviscas Playa in the other. The beaches are well served with beach bars, water sports, as well as sun loungers and parasols.  We met some lovely people around the pool.  Everyone was so friendly.  Will definitely return next year, or even earlier if I can persuade my husband.

We were recommended to book through Karen Durant from Holidays4U via TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed with either the service she provided or the apartment we booked. From the start she was always prompt in answering our emails (even the ones sent late at night!) and the key information was sent through in good time before the holiday. That is always re-assuring when booking a holiday. We prefer to book with a person rather than clicking a button on a website. Now to the apartment. We booked a one bedroom apartment on Los Geranios. It was very well equipped and even had a dishwasher, as well as a washing machine.  I believe that every owner ought to invest in a dishwasher. We get used to such a convenience at home. It is a bit of a rude shock on holiday without one. It is advisable to book at least a year in advance if you are going at busy times. The weather was great for our stay – we spent much of the time on the balcony enjoying the sun. The pool is heated, which was a bonus, as it meant our 8 year old daughter could enjoy it. She absolutely loved it as it was a place to meet up with friends discovered during the holiday. There is also a pool bar which is excellent, serving delicious snacks and drinks. It’s a bit of  a rush at 9am to get a sun bed by the pool, which is why we sometimes ended up on the balcony.  I for one prefer to have a lie in when on holiday!

We love the Las Vistas are which is on the border of Los Cristianos and Las Americas, so this year we booked a two bedroom apartment on Vera Mar. We were holidaying with our daughter and her husband, so we booked a two bedroom apartment on this complex. There is a shared pool on the complex, but the complex is also right on the sea front. A gate leads out from the complex to the sea front promende and the Las Vistas beach. It couldn’t be a better location. We booked through Karen from Holidays4U. We were booked very late (the day before we travelled), but Karen gave a great service. She had to log the booking with the owner first, who was a little tricky to get hold of. She re-assured us by holding a 2nd apartment for us while the owner of the one we booked came back to us. Finally got our confirmation just before midnight. We appreciated Karen’s conscientiousness in looking after us. The apartment itself was lovely. It was furnished in  modern style and was extremely well equipped. It even had a dishwasher, which is quite a rare find in an apartment (normally you only find them when booking villas). The only problem we had was that when we arrived the cleaners had only left towels for 3 people and there were 4 of us. But this was quickly rectified. We called the local number from our voucher and the cleaner arrived with the missing towels within a couple of hours.

Have booked several times through Karen Durant from Holidays4u. This time we booked a two bedroom privately owned apartment on Sunset Bay in Costa Adeje. It was a nice apartment, decorated in a modern style with air conditioning. The apartment had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which was great as my husband and I were travelling with my parents-in-law. When we arrived the apartment was clean and the cleaners had left a little welcome pack, which included a bottle of wine (we appreciated that enormously as we were on a late flight). The location of the complex is excellent. The beach is just across the road, only a 2 minute walk.  There is  sea front promenade which stretches for miles in either direction.  Some evenings we took a stroll, checking out a few bars along the way.  There are plenty of restaurants, shops and bars around, within easy walking distance. There are 2 pools on the complex, one of which is heated. That was the one we mostly used, but the pools are only open from 9am to 6pm. There is a car park on the complex, but there is a charge for using it. This could be a bonus if you want to hire a car. We didn’t use the car park as we wanted a relaxing holiday and as everything was within walking distance, we really didn’t need a car. There are few restaurants and bars on the complex which are good value for money.
