Review Malibu Park Apartments

We have just returned from our second holiday on Malibu Park. This time we booked a studio, which we got through Karen from Holidays 4U.  She recommended the studio in particular as it has just undergone a full refurbishment and it really was lovely inside. The staff were very friendly.  The pool bar, called the Splash Bar, serves great food and drink and is very reasonably priced. The apartment was well equipped and the linen and towels provided were of good quality. The pool area is nice and there are life guards on duty. There are plenty of sun loungers, so you don’t have to rush or reserve them, like on some complexes. Also the life guards are very helpful with moving them as necessary. I would have to point out though that the complex is across the motorway and in quite a hilly area. So it wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. But it wasn’t a problem for us. We were also very lucky with the weather during our stay. There is a mercadona supermarket as well as an Iceland, which are only a short walk from the complex. It is also close to Siam Mall, which is very good for shopping. And of course it is also a short walk to Siam Park.  Aqualand Water Park is just opposite.  We visited Siam Park and Aqualand during our holiday.  It was great fun. There is also free wifi internet access available on the complex.  We will definitely be returning to this complex for our next holiday, providing we can find a privately owned apartment which is available. We prefer to book one of the private ones as they tend to be better equipped when it comes to cooking utensils, pots and pans etc.

Reviews Altamira Apartments

I have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Tenerife. I stayed on the Altamira complex with my partner.  We chose this complex as we used to holiday here around 10 years ago, but because of family health issues we hadn’t returned until this month. We were not disappointed, the complex is still as lovely as ever and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We booked through Karen Durant from Holidays 4U. The apartment was privately owned. It was on the 3rd floor and enjoyed amazing sea and pool views.  I would say the view was one of the best on the complex. The only way to better it would be to be on a higher floor. The complex is well maintained and there are 3 pools. There is also a restaurant which serves very good food.  It is nice to walk along the promenade, as the complex is right on the sea front. In just a few minutes you reach Playa del Duque. In my opinion this is one of the beaches on the island. There are sun loungers and sun umbrellas which you can hire, but the beach is not big and never over crowded.  The arrangement with the wifi was a bit strange. You have to ask for the password every day as it changes. It wasn’t even very fast, so it could be a bit frustrating. But as I have a smart phone, I was able to use the wifi hotspot on my phone instead, which was a lot better. I am with Vodafone and they only charge £3 per day so you can use the data on your bundle.

Reviews Parque Santiago 2 Tenerife

Parque Santiago 2 is an excellent complex, in an ideal location as it is on the sea front and close to the beach. The area is good, surrounding the complex.  Although in the centre of Playa de las Americas, it is still a fair distance from Las Veronicas, where the night clubs can be found. So it is quite a family oriented complex and quite quiet at night. The shared swimming pool and complex grounds are well maintained and very beautiful. We travelled as a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children aged 9, 7 and 5 years old). We chose this particular apartment, because of the sleeping arrangements. Most two bedroom apartments offer 2 single beds in each bedroom and the 5th person gets to sleep on the sofa bed.  This wouldn’t have worked terribly well for us, as we wouldn’t want any of our children to be alone in the lounge.  Also, if there are children sleeping on the sofa bed, where are you supposed to sit, relax and chill out in the evening? The apartment we chose had double beds in each bedroom and an extra single bed in an alcove in the 2nd bedroom.  So it was perfect for us. Two of our children shared the double bed in the master bedroom and our youngest child slept on the single bed in with us. We booked the apartment through Karen from Holidays4u.org, who was very helpful through the booking process.  The apartment didn’t have the best view, as it overlooked the road, but the fact that it had sun all day on the balcony, more than made up for that.

We have stayed on the Old Village complex many times over the last 10 years or so. We have just returned from another enjoyable holiday. My wife and I booked a studio apartment on the 2nd floor. It was great as it had a roof terrace.  Not only did it mean that we got all day sun – great for sunbathing, but also the views were amazing. We booked the studio through Karen from Holidays4u.org. Although we were a couple, we chose Old Village originally as it is  a very family friendly complex. It is safe and clean. That leads itself to being a good place to be able to relax and have a peaceful and quiet holiday. The complex is well maintained. There are several pools with plenty of sun loungers. There are also numerous restaurants on site. But there is more choice down by the marina, which is only a 20 minute walk away. The best bit of the holiday though was just the quiet time sunbathing and relaxing on the roof terrace.  It was especially nice to sit and watch the sun setting with a gin and tonic or two. Athough the studio was small it had a washing machine, which was a big advantage. All the staff on the complex that we encountered where very helpful, friendly and polite. We tried out a couple of the bars on site for a brandy night cap and they were very nice.  We walked down to the marina on a couple of nights and the taxi back was only 5 euros.

I have just returned from the most beautiful holiday of my entire life. I travelled with my husband and 2 teenage daughters. My eldest daughter is starting University in the Autumn and is moving out of the family home. So the holiday as been particularly precious, as it marks the end of an era. The apartment we booked was a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor, on the Old Village complex. We booked through Holidays 4U. A lady called Karen dealt with our booking. We were very pleased with the efficiency of the booking process and information on how to collect keys was sent out by Karen in good time before our holiday. She takes payments via credit card, so we felt our money was very secure. The complex itself is very clean and the pool and gardens well maintained. The weather was brilliant for our stay. There are several restaurants on site which are very good. But the beach and marina is only a 20 minute walk and there are many more bars and restaurants to choose from in this area. We visited the marina area most evenings. We found it worked well if we walked down and then we took a taxi back to the apartment at the end of the evening. The taxis charge around 4 euros, so it was definitely affordable.  Free wifi internet access is available on the complex, which we found very useful. You have to pay for the sun loungers around the pool. My husband was paying, so I can’t remember exactly what the cost was.  I think he said it was around 1,50 euros per day. All in all a very enjoyble holiday and we would definitely return.

Reviews Old Village

I have stayed in the Old Village Vilamoura many times. This time I was travelling with my husband and young baby.  We booked the apartment through Karen from Holidays 4U, who was very helpful through the booking process.  We like her website as you can easily see all the apartments and there are photos of all the interiors, so you can choose very easily which one you like the best. Whereas on other sites you may be offered just one rather than having a choice, or if it is a website where owners advertise, you have to send out a lot of emails to get a result. That can be frustrating as often the calendars are not up to date. With Holidays 4U, you get a list of what is available, rather than having to wade through apartments which turn out not to be available anyway. We booked a one bedroom apartment on the Prestige section of the complex, which had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. The complex is in a good location, you can easily walk to the marina and beach. It is a very family oriented complex, which is important to us, now that we have a baby in the family. It would also suit couples very well. There are several restaurants on site, which are all very good. The cooked breakfast was particularly good.  We had that every morning without fail, so we speak from first hand experience. The pool area and gardens on the complex are very well maintained. Also all the staff we encountered were very polite and friendly.

Reviews Pueblo Torviscas Tenerife

Have just returned from a absolutely fabulous holiday on the Pueblo Torviscas complex in Costa Adeje, Tenerife. He booked a studio in H block through Karen from Holidays4u.org. We were travelling as a couple, for our wedding anniversary. Although on the basic side, which was reflected in the price, the apartment was clean and well maintained. The complex itself if also fabulous. Most mornings, we visited the Club House for breakfast, which was great. The staff at the complex were very friendly and they spoke English very well, which is great as my Spanish is not very good. And of course it is in a great location, being very close to the sea front and beach and all the surrounding bars and restaurants. Our apartment was on the ground floor with a very large terrace. We love Harleys Restaurant which is a short walk away.  We were there most evenings and the staff got to know us quite well before the end of our holiday and were giving us free brandies at the end of our meals. Although the pool on the complex is great, we also liked to go to the beach on most days. Torviscas Playa has all the amenities which you would expect from a tourist resort, including water sports, a beach bar, sun loungers, sun umbrellas with little tables. You have to hire the sun beds though. Most days we just took towels to lie out on. The beach has water breakers, so the sea wasn’t too rough, unlike some other beaches in Tenerife. A guy came round selling slices of pineapple, but to be honest it was a bit expensive. So having agreed to buy on the first day we declined the offer on all the following days.

Reviews Los Gigantes Apartments

Have just returned from a holiday in Los Gigantes, Tenerife. I travelled with my husband and 2 teenage children. We had a lovely time. We booked the apartment through Holidays 4U. Karen was very helpful throughout the booking process. The apartment had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, including one ensuite. It was very spacious and well maintained. The apartment was cleaned for our arrival. We had no complaints. We chose the apartment for the great sea view. There were 2 balconies one with sun loungers. Another balcony off the master bedroom had a patio table and chairs. It was lovely to sit out in the evening to watch the sunset with a gin and tonic or two. We stayed for 2 weeks and a cleaner came halfway through to change the linen and towels. She also did  a little brief clean in the bathroom, which was very welcome. The complex also had a small pool surrounded by sun loungers. We did a little exploring during the holiday. One day we drove up to Mount Teide and took the cable car up to the top. It wasn’t the very top as you have to climb the rest of the way and you need a permit, so we didn’t venture to do that. Another day trip was to the pretty village of Masca. You can’t drive right into the village, but instead you have to walk in. The locals use donkeys to bring goods in and out of the village. It is like stepping into another time from the past. We also went on a dolphin/whale watching trips. We saw plenty of dolphins, but no whales unfortunately. A buffet lunch was provided and at one point close to Los Gigantes, the boat stopped to weigh anchor. We were allowed to jump into the sea off the back of the boat for a swim.  It was most enjoyable.

Reviews Sunset Bay Tenerife

We stayed in a lovely two bedroom apartment on Sunset Bay last week. We booked through Karen Durant from Holidays 4U, as we prefer to stay in the privately owned ones. We had a wonderful holiday. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The views were amazing. There was a pool and sea view from the lower balcony and a sea view from the upper balcony off the main bedroom. As the apartment was a duplex penthouse the views were truly some of the best you would get on the complex, I imagine.  The apartment also had air conditioning which was great. But there were a lot of steps, which was a challenge.  I certainly don’t have walking difficulties, but I was a lot fitted on my return from holiday, than I was at the beginning. I’m not complaining.  It’s a good thing! Certainly the views were ample compensation. The facilities on the complex are very good.  The pool area is nice. There is also a pool bar and restaurants on site which offer excellent home cooked food. I think the only downside of booking a privately owned apartment is that you don’t get the regular cleaning service that you would if you book through the resort. But actually we found this to be an advantage as once installed in our holiday accommodation we prefer to have our privacy and to be left to enjoy our holiday in peace and quiet. The complex is also in a very good location as it is close to the beach as well as all the other amenities of the resort. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants in the surrounding area.

Reviews Playa Blanca Villas

We have just returned from a memorable and enjoyable holiday in Playa Blanca Lanzarote. We stayed in a three bedroom villa which was actually very well located. The villa was clean and comfortable and we would definitely consider re-booking it for our next holiday. We booked through Karen from Holidays 4U, who was very helpful throughout the booking process. The villa was well equipped having a washing machine and even a dishwasher.  The outside area was quite spacious with a barbeque area and also a covered terrace with patio furniture which included 2 sets of table and chairs and a relaxing area with rattan sofas. We must have spent most of the time on those sofas.  It was a lovely place to relax. The pool was heated electrically, but the weather was so hot, I don’t think it was even switched on.  Most of the amenities of the resort are within walking distance including the Flamingo beach and the centre o the resort. But we did hire a car on a couple of days so that we could visit the Papagayo Playas which was a 15 minute drive away. We travelled as a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 14 and 12. The villa was perfect for us as we have a boy and a girl, so they could each have their own room. If we book the villa again, we will investigate the possibility of allowing our children to each bring a friend, as the villa could easily accommodate 6 people. We found some lovely restaurants in the centre of Playa Blanca. It is so nice to be in a self catering environment, so that you can truly savour all the different restaurants rather than in a hotel where you get the same food night after night.
