Have just returned from a holiday on the Santa Maria complex.  We booked a privately owned apartment through Karen Durant from Holidays 4U. It was great and we have already booked a repeat holiday for next year. The only small negative was that there was a flight of stairs that we weren’t expecting. We read that there is a lift on the complex. We booked a two bedroom apartment on the 1st floor, even though there were only 2 of us. One of us snores! But the apartment turned out to be on an annexe and there is no lift. It didn’t matter for us, but it could be a problem for anyone with walking difficulties. We told Karen about the oversight in the information and she has amended her information to explain to future holiday makers that there is no lift for this particular apartment.  Other than that the apartment itself was great: just as advertised. Both the sofa and beds were very comfortable and the apartment was clean for our arrival. We phoned to ask for a change of towels halfway through our stay and these were delivered the next morning. The apartment has a nice view of the pool.  It was nice to sit out on the balcony and watch all the people on the sun terraces and around the pool. The complex is in a good area, being just across the road from the beach. There are plenty of lovely restaurants and bars around.
