We have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Lanzarote. Our party consisted of 2 families of 2 adults and 2 children in each. So we booked a four bedroom villa in Puerto Calero. We had a wonderful time. The villa was excellent. We were met on arrival by Maria who looks after the villa for the owners. She was very sweet and showed us around the villa and the outside areas. We were able to pay for the majority of the booking fee on arrival, as well as a refundable security bond and something for a final clean at the end of the holiday. I really like this method of payment. People talk a lot these days about paying in a secure manner.  But what is more secure than not paying up front for the holiday, and instead paying for it once you have seen the property.  No chance of fraud in this scenario.  The only downside is having to carry around large wads of cash, which can be a bit nerve racking. The villa was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the outside areas are well maintained. The pool was quite large and heated. There were plenty of sun loungers, so we could all stretch out together if we fancied it. There was also a barbeque area, which we made good use of. The villa had sea views from the upper terrace, which was fantastic. Maria told us that there was no-one arriving on the day we left and as we had a late flight, she said we could stay on in the villa on departure day. That was really great and made quite a difference to our enjoyment at the end of the holiday.  There is nothing worse than having to lug around cases all day.
